AT&T Call Vantage Broadband Phone Service
I have been a long time land line phone user and got very tired of the impossible to read phone bills, the ever changing charges and the poor service plus too many other issues to list. So I decided to look at VOIP(Voice of Internet Protocol) service. I did allot of research and decided to try AT&T Call Vantage over Vonage as Vonage seems to have a poor service history. This was a very simple process that can be done mostly online. Once you sign up AT&T will send you a special router that you easily hook up to your broadband connection and 5 steps later you are hooked up. AT&T will have to move your existing phone number but that takes about 3 business days. There was one issue for me and that was every time someone called or we called someone the phone would reset and require us to verify our phone number this was a major pain. But the AT&T service dept was top notch and always helped with the issue and after I had my broadband provider come out and check the line I gave it one more try but we still had the problem. So I decided that I could not continue with this, so I called to cancel and the AT&T service person suggested that I unplug the router from my power strip and plug it directly into the wall socket. I gave it a try and the problem has not returned in over 2months. The sound is great and the features are unbeatable. You can actually get email notifications when you have a voice mail that you can check over the internet. My phone bill for unlimited local and long distance with call waiting is $30.48. That is a savings of about $27 a month. If you have a broadband connection I would give AT&T Call Vantage a try. |
